Summary

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Super-Duty F-250, F-350, and F-550 diesel pickups. The transmission torque converter damper plate was not tempered, resulting in a brittle damper plate that may fracture and cause the engine to stall or require increased brake pedal effort in order to stop the vehicle.

10R140 Automatic Transmission Intermittent Buzz Noise While In Transport Mode – 2020 Ford F-Super Duty

Summary

Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L gas engine and a 10R140 transmission may exhibit an intermittent buzz noise coming from the transmission while the vehicle is in transport mode. This condition is most noticeable with the vehicle in PARK or NEUTRAL and at elevated idle speeds of 850 to 1250 revolutions per minute (RPM). This condition is a normal characteristic while in transportation mode and will be eliminated once the vehicle is placed into normal mode prior to customer delivery. Do not attempt to repair.

10R140 Transmission – Harsh Upshifts – Vehicles With Less Than 200 Miles (320 km) – 2020 Ford F-Super Duty

Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 transmission may exhibit harsh upshifts between 1st and 5th gears. For vehicles with less than 200 miles (320 km) on the odometer, these harsh upshifts may be due to the transmission adaptive strategy not being fully adapted. The harsh upshifts are not detrimental to transmission operation or durability and upshift quality may improve as the vehicle is driven. If the vehicle does not have any illuminated warning indicators or diagnostic troubles codes (DTCs), do not perform any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating. Monitor OASIS for updates.
