Certain 2018 Model Year MKZ Hybrid Vehicles Equipped with the Magnetic Appearance Package
Accelerator Pedal and Brake Pedal Cover Replacement

PROGRAM TERMS 

This program will be in effect through October 31, 2019. There is no mileage limit for this program.

 

AFFECTED VEHICLES

Vehicle Model Year Assembly Plant Build Dates
MKZ (HEV) 2018 Hermosillo September 6, 2017 through July 18, 2018

Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS and FSA VIN Lists.

 

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM

In all of the affected vehicles, the incorrect accelerator and brake pedal covers have been installed which do not include the aluminum pedal accents as part of the Magnetic Appearance Package. This does not affect vehicle operation.

Issue: Some 2017-2019 F-250/F-350 4WD vehicles built on or before 31-Jul-2018 may exhibit a sustained steering wheel oscillation after driving over rough pavement or an expansion joint above 45 mph (72 Km/h).

Powertrain Control Module Reprogramming

 

PROGRAM TERMS

This is a one-time repair program with no time or mileage limits.  Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners.

 

URGENCY

Dealers are encouraged to complete this service on all in stock and customer vehicles brought in for any reason to ensure vehicles meet conditional certifications described in the Reason For Program section below.

REASON FOR PROGRAM

In all of the affected vehicles, the Diesel engines received a conditional certification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). While current vehicles comply with CARB and EPA emissions regulatory requirements, the conditional certificate requires Ford to implement an enhanced calibration, which must be applied to all affected vehicles that come into the dealer.
