Summary
Some 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 31-Jul-2022 equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit a fluid leak from the selector shaft seal. This may be caused by a crack in the manual shaft. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the manual shaft, the manual shaft-to-sensor roll pin and the selector shaft seal.

Issue: Some 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 31-Jul-2022 equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit a fluid leak from the selector shaft seal. This may be caused by a crack in the manual shaft. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the manual shaft, the manual shaft-to-sensor roll pin and the selector shaft seal.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2022 F-Super Duty
- Built on or before 31-Jul-2022
- 10R140 automatic transmission
- Transmission fluid leak at the selector shaft seal area

Service Procedure
1. Remove the main control valve body. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01B.
2. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual lever. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
3. Remove the nut and the manual lever. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
4. Remove and discard the manual shaft-to-transmission range (TR) sensor roll pin. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
5. Loosen the detent spring bolt and the detent spring enough to remove tension from the TR sensor. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
6. Remove and discard the manual shaft.
7. Remove and discard the selector shaft seal.
8. Install a new selector shaft seal. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
9. Install a new manual shaft. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
NOTE: Verify correct installation of the park pawl actuator rod into the park pawl sleeve and the TR sensor as the components may shift with removal of the manual shaft.
10. Align the TR sensor roll pin hole with the new manual shaft and install a new manual shaft-to-sensor roll pin. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
11. Tighten the detent spring bolt. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
12. Reinstall the manual lever and nut. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
13. Reinstall the main control valve body. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01B.
14. Reconnect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever. Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to WSM, Section 307-05B.
15. Fill and check the transmission fluid. Refer to WSM 307-01B.
