Summary

Some 2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with active park assist may exhibit turn signals, steering wheel radio controls and low speed wipers being inoperative. The stability/traction control indicator lamp may also be illuminated with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0131. It may be required to perform the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) reprogramming function twice to ensure the module is successfully programmed. Reprogram the SCCM with latest calibration using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 106.03 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Use causal part 3F791 and refer to section 10 body/chassis/electrical in the SLTS manual for applicable labor operations.

Wi-Fi Connection Message – 2019 Ford & Lincoln

Some 2019 Mustang/Fusion/Edge/F-150/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus/Ranger vehicles with SYNC 3 may show a pop-up message every key cycle that states “Network Connection Needed – To complete the system updates your vehicle should connect to a Wi-Fi network or through the FordPass/LincolnWay app. Until the update is completed, some features may not be available. Would you like to attempt to connect to a Wi-Fi network now?” This message may occur, even if SYNC has been connected to a trusted Wi-Fi source. To temporarily remove the inconvenience of this pop-up message, advise the customer from SYNC to select Settings > Automatic Updates > System Wi-Fi and turn off System Wi-Fi, then turn off automatic system updates. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.

Inoperative Heated Steering Wheel – 2015-2019 Ford & Lincoln

2017-2019 F-Super Duty, 2017-2019 Continental, 2015-2019 Edge, 2016-2018 MKX and 2019 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit an inoperative heated steering wheel. For vehicles equipped with adaptive steering, the steering effort control module (SECM) controls the heated steering wheel feature and is internal to the vehicle’s steering wheel. For vehicles not equipped with adaptive steering, the heated steering wheel module (HSWM) controls the heated steering wheel feature and is separate from the steering wheel. Using the OASIS Tab drop down > HVBoM > Features button or an appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool, you can determine if the vehicle is equipped with Adaptive Steering. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-05.
