Some 2005-2012 Escape and 2006-2011 MarinerHybrid vehicles can exhibit an illuminated MIL and/or Stop Safely Now message in extreme hot ambient temperatures, with DTC P0A7E:00 present in the Battery Control Module (BCM).
Refer to WSM Section 414-03 to diagnose the P0A7E concern.
Under extreme hot weather, if diagnosis leads to replacement of the high voltage battery, pull back the carpet covering the battery pack in the back and locate the part number sticker on the battery pack.
If the battery part number prefix start with 8M64, 9M68, or AM68, recalibrate the BCM to the latest level using version 94.05 or higher.
The calibration raises the overheat threshold to address extreme hot weather operation.
