ISSUE:
Some 2011-2012 Motorhome and Commercial Chassis built on 1/19/2010 and through 12/18/2012 may exhibit illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and wrench light, with open battery junction box (BJB) fuse 3. Various diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may be present in the powertrain control module (PCM). This concern may be due to moisture accumulation in the intake manifold runner control (IMRC).
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the concern.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
The following DTCs may be stored with this failure; P0103, P0104, P0135, P0141, P0155, P0340, P0433, P0443, P0645, P0660 and/or P2006.
- Replace the IMRC. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01.
- Remove the IMRC actuator rod C-clip.
- Remove the three (3) bolts and the IMRC actuator.
- Apply a bead of Motorcraft Clear Silicone Rubber around the base of the IMRC electrical connector. (Figure 1)

- Position the IMRC actuator and install the three (3) bolts. Tighten to 10 N-m (89 lb-in).
- Install the IMRC rod C-clip.
- Replace BJB fuse 3.
