ISSUE:
Some 2013 F-150 vehicles built on or before 11/15/2013 with Electronic Automatic Temperature Control or Electronic Manual Temperature Control Remote Mount only, may exhibit an intermittent lack of heat.
This may be caused by ice accumulation in the Heater Core And Evaporator Core Housing affecting operation of the temperature blend door.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Is the vehicle equipped with Electronic Automatic Temperature Control or Electronic Manual Temperature Control Remote Mount? Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-01.
- Yes – proceed to step 2.
- No – this article does not apply. Refer to WSM, Section 412-00 for normal diagnostics.
- Replace the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Module. Refer to WSM, Section 412-01.
- Is the vehicle equipped with dual zone climate control?
- No – repair is complete.
- Yes – replace the light sensor. Refer to WSM, Section 417-01.
