Lariat – Snow Plow/Start-Stop Deactivation Buttons – Incorrect Button Illumination – 2020 Ford F-150

Summary

Some 2020 F-150 Lariat vehicles equipped with the snow plow prep package may exhibit the snow plow button illuminating when you press the start/stop deactivation button, and the start/stop deactivation indicator illuminating when you press the snow plow button. Both features otherwise function correctly, and the correct messages illuminate in the message center when pressing either button. This may be due to incorrect switch circuitry. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to swap circuit pin locations.

Issue: Some 2020 F-150 Lariat vehicles equipped with the snow plow prep package may exhibit the snow plow button illuminating when you press the start/stop deactivation button, and the start/stop deactivation indicator illuminating when you press the snow plow button. Both features otherwise function correctly, and the correct messages illuminate in the message center when pressing either button. This may be due to incorrect switch circuitry. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to swap circuit pin locations.

 

Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

• 2020 F-150 Lariat
• Equipped with snow plow package
• Start/stop deactivation button and the snow plow button indicator illumination incorrect

 

Service Procedure

1. Remove the front controls interface module (FCIM). Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 415-00C.

2. Disconnect connector C2480 from the start/stop deactivation and snow plow mode button.

3. Remove pins #1 and #6 from connector C2480. (Figure 1)

4. Reinstall the pins into the opposite positions, so the BN wire (circuit CE469) is in location 6 and the GYBU wire (circuit CPD02) is in location 1. (Figure 2)

5. Install the FCIM. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 415-00C.
