SSM 46503 – 2017 F-Super Duty – With Rear Auxiliary Powerpoint – Engine Remains Running After Ignition Turned Off – Built On Or Before 20-Feb-2017

Some 2017 F-Series Super Duty pickups equipped with a rear auxiliary power point and built on or before 20-Feb-2017 may remain running after the ignition is turned off.

Prior to performing any diagnostics, inspect the rear auxiliary power point for any aftermarket devices that can supply voltage back into the vehicle.

Items such as a battery jump pack can induce voltage that will simulate key on status and prevent the powertrain control module (PCM) from shutting off the engine.

If no aftermarket devices can be located, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-05 for normal diagnostics.
