This article supersedes TSB 17-2207 to update the vehicle model years.
Issue: Some 2017-2019 Escape vehicles may exhibit a vibration at highway speeds above 80 Km/h (50 MPH) which may be attributed to short term flat spotting in the tires.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
Service Procedure
- Visually inspect the tires for possible damage. Are any concerns present?
(1). Yes – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-04.
(2). No – proceed to Step 2.
- Check and adjust tire pressures to placard specification.
- Drive the vehicle to confirm customer concern. The vehicle must be driven a minimum of 24 km (15 miles) to eliminate any temporary flat spotting conditions. Is the vibration still present?
(1). Yes – further diagnosis is required. Refer to WSM, Section 204-04.
(2). No – no further action required. Return the vehicle to the customer.
