2017 Escape/MKC – 2.0L GTDI – Illuminated Check Engine Light With DTC P04DB
Some 2017 MY Escape/MKC vehicles equipped with the 2.0L GTDI engine may exhibit MIL DTC P04DB indicating Crankcase Ventilation System Fresh Air Hose is Disconnected.
Any ‘Unmetered’ air leaks can result in this DTC being set.
Before following PCED PPT HG, ensure the connections at the Vacuum Pump to Brake Booster Lineand the Crankcase Pressure Sensor (CKCPS) and Tube are properly connected.
The CKCPS/tube assembly is located at the rear of the engine behind the air intake tube.
Removal of the cowl/leaf screen is necessary to inspect the CKCPS/tube assembly is properly connected to the Air Inlet Tube and Engine Valve Cover.
