Congrats on the purchase of your Ford
Expedition® SUV. One of the benefits of owning a connected vehicle is that you receive Ford Power-Up software updates. These updates are delivered wirelessly to your Ford Expedition SUV to help ensure you’re always up to date.
This particular update will set you up for all future ones to come. Think of it as the update that opens the door for all the others to enter through.
Some updates will happen in the background while you are driving if you keep Automatic Updates ON. But others require your vehicle to be turned off for a short period of time, which means you can’t be behind the wheel. We recommend you set a recurring schedule so they can occur when you do not need to drive — like, while you’re sleeping.
Simply go to your in-vehicle SYNC® settings screen and confirm you have Automatic Updates set to ON. Then select Schedule Updates to set your recurring schedule.
Again, these software enhancements are there to improve your vehicle’s overall capabilities, including entertainment experiences and new vehicle features.

The complete factory Ford Motor Company vehicle diagnostic tool that provides complete dealership level vehicle diagnostic coverage for all 1996 to present Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. The IDS software includes time based access to the IDS software, software updates and calibration files.
Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software (FJDS) / Ford Diagnosis & Repair System (FDRS)
For use with compatible J2534 hardware devices. FJDS software provides Ford Module Programming functionality that covers 1996 to present Ford, Lincoln and Mercury module reprogramming functions, plus complete dealership level vehicle diagnostic software for all 2018 to present Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The FJDS software license includes time based access to the FJDS software, software updates and calibration files.
