TSB 15-0112 | COOLANT LEAK FROM THE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK |
ISSUE:
Some 2012-2014 Expedition and Navigator vehicles may exhibit coolant loss from the coolant expansion tank cap.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Flush the cooling system. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-03.
- Replace the thermostat and radiator cap during the flush procedure.
- Remove the coolant expansion tank. Refer to WSM, Section 303-03.
- Thoroughly clean the coolant expansion tank using fresh water.
- Reinstall the coolant expansion tank. Refer to WSM, Section 303-03.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to WSM, Section 303-03.
- Use distilled water when refilling the cooling system.
