TSB 15-0112 COOLANT LEAK FROM THE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK

 

FORD: 2012-2014 Expedition
LINCOLN: 2012-2014 Navigator

 

ISSUE:

Some 2012-2014 Expedition and Navigator vehicles may exhibit coolant loss from the coolant expansion tank cap.

 

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

 

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Flush the cooling system. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-03.
  1. Replace the thermostat and radiator cap during the flush procedure.
  1. Remove the coolant expansion tank. Refer to WSM, Section 303-03.
  1. Thoroughly clean the coolant expansion tank using fresh water.
  1. Reinstall the coolant expansion tank. Refer to WSM, Section 303-03.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to WSM, Section 303-03.
    1. Use distilled water when refilling the cooling system.

Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage.
