Armrest does not Stow Flush with Rear Seat Back – 2015 Ford F-150

SUPERCREW – REAR SEAT CENTER ARMREST DOES NOT STOW FLUSH WITH REAR SEAT BACK – BUILT ON OR BEFORE 4/27/2015

ISSUE:

Some 2015 F-150 SuperCrew vehicles built on or before 4/27/2015 and equipped with a rear seat center armrest may exhibit a concern where the armrest does not stow flush with the rear seat back.

 

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

 

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Inspect the rear seat center armrest to be sure the stowage pocket is clear of obstructions and verify the concern.
2. Remove the left hand (LH) rear seat backrest cover and foam pad. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10.
3. Using a razor blade or similar tool cut two 10 mm x 10 mm x 100 mm (13/32″ x 13/32″ x 4″) trenches into both upper corners of the armrest pocket in the rear seat backrest foam pad. (Figure 1)

   1. Do not cut into the surrounding foam bead.
4. Replace the LH rear seat backrest cover with the latest level service part, reusing the modified foam pad. Refer to the WSM, Section 501-10.
