2016 Econoline – 6.8L V10 Engine – MIL May Illuminate And/Or DTC P2610 Set After 12-Volt Battery Is Disconnected

Some 2016 Econoline vehicles equipped with a 6.8L V10 engine can exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2610 is stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory after the 12-volt battery is disconnected.

 

Clear DTCs after reconnecting 12-volt battery cables and confirm DTC does not repeat.

If DTC P2610 repeats refer to Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis manual pinpoint test QB.

Do not replace the PCM if DTC P2610 was induced after disconnecting the 12-volt battery cables.
