|TSB 14-0008||6.8L ENGINE – STATIONARY ELEVATED IDLE CONTROL (SEIC) WITH POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO)|
|Publication Date: January 14, 2014|
|FORD:||2012 F-650, F-750|
Some 2012 F-Super Duty 650/750 vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine may exhibit a delayed engagement for the SEIC-PTO mode operation after decelerating to a stop. Vehicles operated as roll-back wreckers or other similar uses of stationary PTO mode may exhibit slow re-entry into PTO mode after the vehicle is moved. Some vehicles exhibit more than 20 seconds of wait-time before stationary PTO mode is allowed by the engine controller. The calibration update contains improvement actions and enhancements to allow a more prompt re-entry into stationary PTO mode after the primary inputs (motionless vehicle, service brake engaged, in Park, and no brake or accelerator pedal inputs) are achieved.
NOTE PLEASE ADVISE THE CUSTOMER THAT THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN ADAPTIVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT STRATEGY WHICH ALLOWS THE VEHICLE’S COMPUTER TO LEARN THE TRANSMISSION’S UNIQUE PARAMETERS AND IMPROVE SHIFT QUALITY.
