Rear Door Trim Panels Loose – 2013 Ford C-MAX

REAR DOOR TRIM PANELS LOOSE – BUILT ON OR BEFORE 6/28/2013

 

FORD: 2013 C-MAX

 

Some 2013 C-MAX vehicles built on or before 6/28/2013 may exhibit loose attachment of the left or right rear door trim panels, typically near the bottom of the door.

 

A new retaining clip is now available to perform the repair.

 

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Is the affected rear door trim panel damaged as a result of the loose attachment?
    1. Yes – replace the rear door trim panel. Use new style grey retaining clip on new door panel in the location identified. Repair is complete. (Figures 1 and 2)
    2. No – proceed to Step 2.

  1. Remove the affected rear door trim panel.
  1. Remove and discard the one retaining clip from the rear door trim panel as shown. (Figure 2)
  1. Install the new grey retaining clip into the door trim panel.
    1. When the retaining clip is inserted correctly a clicking noise can be heard.
  1. Install the rear door trim panel.
