3.5L GASOLINE TURBO DIRECT INJECTED ENGINES (GTDI) MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) ILLUMINATED – DTC P012B AND/OR P012D

FORD:

2013 F-150

ISSUE:

Some 2013 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engines may exhibit a MIL illuminated with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P012B (turbocharger/supercharger inlet pressure sensor circuit range/performance) and/or P012D (turbocharger/supercharger inlet pressure sensor circuit high) stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory.

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Using the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent Scan Tool, check all continuous memory diagnostic trouble codes (CMDTCS). Is DTC P012B and/or P012D stored in PCM memory?
1. No – this article does not apply. Refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnostics.
1. Yes – replace turbocharger intake pressure and temperature (TCIPT) sensor and connector C1667. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-014 and Wiring Diagram Section 5-1. (Figure 1)
