Summary
This article supersedes TSB 21-2295 to update the Parts List. Some 2021 F-150 vehicles built on or before 14-June-2021 may exhibit a rubbing noise at the front of the vehicle while driving and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C0031 and/or C0034 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be caused by an incorrectly routed front brake flexible hose. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the front brake flexible hose routing.

Issue: Some 2021 F-150 vehicles built on or before 14-June-2021 may exhibit a rubbing noise at the front of the vehicle while driving and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C0031 and/or C0034 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be caused by an incorrectly routed front brake flexible hose. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the front brake flexible hose routing.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:* 2021 F-150* Built on or before 14-June-2021* One or more of the following conditions: – Rubbing noise at the front of the vehicle while driving – DTC C0031 and/or C0034 in the ABS module

Service Procedure
1. With the vehicle on the ground or a drive-on hoist and the steering wheel centered, inspect the routing of both front brake flexible hoses. (Figures 1-2)
NOTE: The flexible hoses must travel downward on the frame side before bending and bend near where they enter the bracket secured to the steering knuckle. There should be greater than 3/4 inch (19 mm) clearance between the brake flexible hose and the wheel/tire assembly.

2. Are both front brake flexible hoses routed correctly? (Figure 1)
(1). Yes – this article does not apply.
(2). No – proceed to step 3.
3. Replace the affected front brake flexible hose(s). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-03. When installing the new hose(s), they must travel downward on the frame side before bending toward the steering knuckle and then bend near the bracket secured to the steering knuckle. (Figure 1)
4. Inspect the affected wheel speed sensor harness(es). Is the wheel speed sensor harness damaged?
(1). Yes – replace the affected wheel speed sensor.
(2). No – repair is complete.
