Summary
Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford
F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer “through shaft” may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.
Remedy
Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics has decided that one of its products, the ICON 05-UP FSD 2.5 CENTERLINE STABILIZER KIT, Part 65050 (“Steering Stabilizer”), which was sold as an aftermarket component for installation on certain 2005 — 2021 Ford F250 4×4 and 2005 — 2021 Ford F350 4×4 Models is non-conforming in relation to motor vehicle safety.
The Steering Stabilizer has a unique “through shaft” design which requires the use of a closed cell foam ring that allows the steering stabilizer to have as little air in the cylinder as possible. It has been determined that this foam ring, over time, can swell and flex, potentially blocking the ports ofthe piston. If the ports of the piston become blocked, the Steering
Stabilizer may be unable to cycle freely which can restrict the vehicle operator’s ability to steer. While the steering lock-up may be preceded by incidents of rough or labored steering, there may be no warning prior to the steering locking up. If the steering completely locks up, it will prevent the vehicle operator’s ability to steer the vehicle which can result in a vehicle crash.
ICON takes the integrity of its products and the safety of its customers very seriously. Therefore, to avoid any risk of a crash, ICON recommends that you immediately remove the Steering Stabilizer from your vehicle.
ICON has designed and manufactured a replacement kit that is immediately available and will be provided at no cost to you. The replacement kit is comprised of a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc that allows the proper flow of oil around the parts, preventing the foam ring from flexing and blocking the ports of the piston. This new revised design allows the Steering Stabilizer to cycle freely with no interference to the vehicle operator’s ability to steer, eliminating the risk of a vehicle crash.
ICON will provide the replacement kit at no charge to you and, will reimburse you for the costs of installation of the replacement kit. If you have not already received the replacement kit, please immediately contact ICON at 95 1-689-4266 to receive a replacement kit or have it shipped to an approved installation facility or, for assistance in identifying an approved installation facility. ICON anticipates that the removal of the Steering Stabilizer and installation of the replacement kit will take approximately 2 hours at an approved installation facility. Again, ICON will reimburse you for the costs associated with the removal and installation.
ICON will also provide a pre-paid label for the return of the original Steering Stabilizer kit and requests that once it is removed, you return it to ICON.
In the event that you believe that ICON has failed or is unable to remedy the nonconforming product described in this letter without charge within a reasonable amount of time, which is not longer than 60 days after you tender your vehicle for repair at an approved installation facility, you may submit a complaint to the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration by calling the toll-free Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to https://www.safercar.gov or mail at:
