2014 Transit Connect vehicles may exhibit a windshield washer spray level low on the windshield and/or low fluid pressure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Check for a pinched or leaking hose that could reduce the fluid flow. Specifically check the hood hinge area. The hose may be pinched or damaged when the hood is closed. Is the hose pinched or leaking? (Figure 1)

- Yes – replace the washer hose and proceed to Step 2.
- No – proceed to Step 2.
- Check the washer jet part number on the side of the washer jet located near the hose attachment nipple. Is it DT11-17666-AB or DT11-17666-BB?
- Yes – proceed to Step 3.
- No – the vehicle has the latest washer jet, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), if further repair is required.
- Replace the washer jets.
- Disconnect the electrical connector for the heated windshield washer jets if equipped.
- Remove the washer fluid hose.
- Push in the retainer pin. (Figure 2)
- Remove the washer jet from the external side of the hood.
