SSM 46198 – 2017 F-Super Duty – Leak from the Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes

Some 2017 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and built on or before 03-Nov-2016 may exhibit a leak from the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

This may be due to poor alignment of the cooler tubes with the cooler tube ports on the transmission and/or improper hold down plate alignment.

When installing these tubes, visually verify that each tube is fully inserted into the transmission and are not offset to one side of the cooler port bore before installing the hold down plate.

When installing the hold down plate, use a new bolt part number W715131-S437 with washer W718565-S437U installed over the bolt between the plate and the transmission.

Torque to 25 Nm
(18 lb-ft). This will provide proper plate to cooler tube alignment and clamping.
