2017 Fusion – 2.5L – Battery Drain – Without Active Grille Shutter
Some 2017 Fusion vehicles equipped with the 2.5L engine, and without active grille shutters (AGS) may exhibit a concern of battery drain.
Battery drain may be a result of key-off load conditions resulting from the powertrain control module(PCM) remaining powered after stop/start button cycling.
PCM battery drain may not be reproducible under some circumstances, especially after a battery has been discharged or if the battery has been disconnected.
Do not attempt any repairs at this time.
Engineering is investigating; monitor OASIS for updates.
To prevent this condition, instruct the customer that the start/stop button should not be pressed more than once within 5 seconds.
