2017 Continental – Door Soft Closing/Power Cinch Strategy
Some 2017 Continental vehicles are equipped with a new soft closing door/door cinch feature.
This system takes over after the user gently closes the door.
The soft close system will then automatically close the door, making it secure.
This system is limited to 25 cycles between each ignition cycle.
This is to prevent the vehicle battery from losing charge.
The system also does not work if the vehicle battery charge is low or in transportation mode.
Do not attempt any repairs for these conditions.
