2013-2016 Focus/C-MaxRemote Keyless Entry (RKE) Programing Concerns

Some 2013-2016 Focus/C-Max vehicles may exhibit concern with the lock/unlock functions not operating after RKE programing.

This caused by using the incorrect RKE Transmitters.

Incorrect RKE Transmitters have the same outward appearance as the correct RKE Transmitters, but transmit using different architecture.

Use theVehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the parts catalog to determine the proper RKE Transmitter engineering part number, base part number 15K601, and the correct ROTUNDA number.

The engineering part number can also be read inside the RKE Transmitters opening where the back-up key is stored, but the print is very small and can be difficult to read.

Refer to Work Shop Manual Section 501-14 for further information
