2014-2016 Transit Connect LWB Wagon – Replacement Seat Back Remains Folded If Not Installed, Normal Operation
When replacing the 2nd row 60/40 seats on a Transit Connect LWB Wagon, it is normal for the seat back to remain locked in the fold position, if not yet installed in the vehicle.
The seat interlock requires that the seat legs be extended and bolted into the vehicle, before the seat back can be fully extended.
A Workshop Manual update is in process to advise not to try to extend the seat, when it is not installed the vehicle.
Do not replace the service part for this condition.
