Nov 11 2015  2234 – 2016 Focus Vehicles Built After 11/03/2015 Will No Longer Have A Tray In The Console. It Was Deleted, And Should Not Be considered A Miss-built Unit

2016 Focus vehicles built on or after November 3 will no longer have a rubber console tray in the console compartment under the console lid.

Feedback from recent customer clinics indicated that customers felt the tray obstructed access to the compartment and suggested that it should be eliminated.

Please do not submit for a Miss-built Unit, and/or add the tray back in the console.

Service Management Team please share with the Sales team the deletion of the tray in the console

  1. Ford blew it here. You could have pleased everyone by having a dual latch like you have on the Escape (and like many other vehicles). When you lift the lid by one latch, you access the tray, where you can keep phone, coins and maybe a billfold right away. Grab both latches (which are right beside each other), and the tray raises up with, and remains closed against, the lid, giving you access to the deep bin. The absence of a tray means you now have to dumpster dive to retrieve that stick of gum, or debit card. Such a great interior and no thought into this simple thing. Crazy.
