HAZARD/TURN SIGNAL/TRAILER TOW LIGHTING – BUILT ON OR BEFORE 5/29/2015

 

FORD: 2011-2015 F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis

 

ISSUE:

Some 2011-2015 F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis vehicles built on or before 5/29/2015 may experience hazard lighting, turn signal operation or trailer tow (TT) lighting that is not functioning properly.

 

Vehicle vibrations may internally damage the relays that control the lighting circuits.

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Is the hazard lighting, turn signal operation or TT lighting not functioning properly?
    1. Yes – proceed to step 2.
    1. No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-01 for normal diagnostics.
  1. Locate the central junction box (CJB) in the lower left side of dash. Remove and discard the following relays: (Figure 1)

  • A – Trailer Tow Right Turn
  • B – Trailer Tow Left Turn
  • C – Right Turn
  • D – Left Turn
  • E – Empty
  1. Install new 4-terminal relays in the CJB in positions A, B, C and D. (Figure 1)
