Second Row Seat Will not Fold Up/Down – 2011-2014 Ford Edge

SECOND ROW MANUAL FOLDING SEATS WILL NOT FOLD UP/DOWN OR ARE INOPERATIVE

2011-2014 Edge

 

ISSUE:

Some 2011-2014 Edge vehicles may exhibit second row manual folding seats that will not operate properly or are in inoperative.

The seat may be stuck in the fully up position.

 

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the affected seat, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10.
2. Remove the inboard lower side shield to gain access to the cable and clip at the bottom of the seat backrest frame.
3. Is the clip unattached or missing? (Figure 1)

   1. Yes- replace the clip with a new clip and reattach it to the seat bottom frame.
   2. No – replace the seat backrest frame, refer to WSM, Section 501-10.
4. Reinstall the affected seat. Refer to WSM, Section 501-10.
