Summary
Some customers with 2020-2023 F-53 Motorhome and F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) less than 20,500 lbs. may exhibit longer than expected brake pedal travel upon initial application with no other functional concerns. If normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics do not identify a concern, this condition should be considered a normal characteristic. These vehicles are equipped with brake calipers designed to reduce brake pad drag that may result in perceived excessive brake pedal travel. Comparison to F53 or F59 stripped chassis vehicles over 20,500 lbs. or prior model years should not be performed due to differences in brake system design and characteristics.
