The suspect headlamps were introduced into production on 04/17/2023 and taken out of production on 05/29/2023. These vehicles are not produced in VIN order. Information as to the applicability of this action to specific vehicles can best be obtained by either calling Ford’s toll-free line (1-866-436-7332) or by contacting a local Ford or Lincoln dealers who can obtain specific information regarding the vehicles from the Ford On-line Automotive Service Information System (OASIS) database. Production Dates : APR 17, 2023 – MAY 29, 2023 VIN Range 1 : Begin : NR End : NR Not sequential Description of Noncompliance : Description of the Noncompliance : Front right headlamps in the affected vehicles may exceed the maximum allowable linearity and/or photometric intensity requirements of FMVSS 108, Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. FMVSS 1 : 108 – Lamps, reflective devices, and assoc. Equipment FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : A noncompliant lamp that exceeds the FMVSS 108 photometry requirements or a noncompliant lamp that is misaimed may cause glare to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash. Description of the Cause : Misalignment of the folder assembly to the high beam reflector in the Bi-LED module. Ford’s supplier investigation identified the presence of multiple QR code part number stickers on lamps from the suspect population. If more than one sticker is found on the part, dealers will replace the right headlamp assembly. There will be no charge for this service. Ford provided the general reimbursement plan for the cost of remedies paid for by vehicle owners prior to notification of a safety recall in May 2023. The ending date for reimbursement eligibility is estimated to be 11/30/2023. Ford will forward a copy of the notification letters to dealers to the agency when available. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : A new right headlamp with a properly aligned folder assembly (KT4B-13W029/30-C) will be installed in place of the noncompliant component.
