2013-2016 Various Vehicles – 6F35 Equipped – 2-3 Shift Hesitation After A Cold Soak
2013-2016 vehicles equipped with a 6F35 transmission can exhibit a 2-3 shift hesitation on the first few shift events of the day after an extended engine off period or cold soak.
Verify the transmission fluid level is correct using the transmission fluid level check procedure outlined in the WSM, Section 301-01 with the fluid temp between 85-93° C (185-200° F).
These hesitation events should be deemed a normal characteristic and do not cause any abnormal wear or durability concern.
The hydraulic circuit can partially drain back during an extended engine off condition and could take a couple applications (2-3 shifts) to work any air out of the hydraulic circuit.
No further work on the transmission should take place for that condition.
