Rattle Type Noise or Vibration from Sliding Door – 2014 Ford Transit Connect

2014 Transit Connect vehicles may exhibit a concern when opening the sliding door, where the sliding door female wedge plunger separates from the wedge assembly.

There may be a customer concern of a rattle type noise or vibration from the sliding door if the plunger is missing.

 

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Inspect for a missing or loose female wedge plunger. Is the plunger missing or has it come apart from the wedge assembly? (Figure 1)

   1. Yes – proceed to Step 2.
   2. No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM).

2. Replace the wedge assembly for the affected sliding door as required.
