ISSUE:
Some customers with 2011-2016 F-250 Super Duty 4×4 vehicles want to raise the rear of their vehicle to change vehicle attitude appearance.
This procedure provides the necessary information for this modification in accordance with engineering specifications.
The modification is a customer responsibility and is not covered by New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to perform the modification.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Rear ride height may be increased by replacing the rear leaf spring spacer block along with additional components. Raising the rear ride height could affect fifth wheel trailer compatibility.
Is the vehicle a 2014-2016 model year and equipped with a snow pre-package?
No – proceed to step 2.
Yes – no further action is required. The vehicle is already equipped with all the components listed in this procedure.
If the vehicle is equipped with a two-piece driveshaft, replace the driveshaft and center bearing bracket. Refer to WSM, Section 205-01 and proceed to Step 8.
Check driveline angles, if required. Refer to WSM, Section 205-00.
Failure to update the center bearing bracket, if required, may result in driveline shudder.
If the vehicle is equipped with a one-piece driveshaft, replace the driveshaft. Refer to WSM Section 204-02.
Vehicle Compatibility - RETRUE Air bags rear suspension kit for 2015-2026 f150 2WD 4WD, will NOT fit the following Ford F-150 models: the Raptor, models with Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD), an in-bed hitch, leveling arms outside the rear frame, or self-leveling headlights, perfect replacement for the Firestone Ride-Rite 2582 kit (Important Note: Due to variations in vehicle configurations, some models may require minor manual adjustment to the mounting holes. Currently known models that may require modification include XLT, FX4, STX and Lariat trims. If there is sensor near the installation area, this kit may not be suitable for installation.)
