Summary
Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with the Big Bend or Outer Banks trim levels built on or before 06-Aug-2021 may exhibit a whistle noise originating from the front of the hood area when traveling at speeds above 30 mph (50 km/h). If the whistle noise can be eliminated by taping off the gap between the hood and grille opening, this condition may be due to the hood seal design. To correct this condition, replace the hood seal with the improved hood seal.

Issue: Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with the Big Bend or Outer Banks trim levels built on or before 06-Aug-2021 may exhibit a whistle noise originating from the front of the hood area when traveling at speeds above 30 mph (50 km/h). If the whistle noise can be eliminated by taping off the gap between the hood and grille opening, this condition may be due to the hood seal design. To correct this condition, replace the hood seal with the improved hood seal.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2021 Bronco
- Big Bend or Outer Banks trim level
- Built on or before 06-Aug-2021
- Whistle noise originating from the front of the vehicle between the hood and grille opening

If the whistle noise can be eliminated by taping off the gap between the hood and grill opening, this condition may be due to the hood seal design. Hood seal replacement will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and Ford is currently working to release an improved seal design that will be available in October 2021. Follow up with the customer to schedule an appointment once OASIS confirms part availability.
