Summary
This article supersedes TSB 21-2352 to update the Title, Issue and Action.
Issue: Some 2021 Broncos may exhibit a whistle noise coming from the front center of the vehicle and/or the climate control housing. This may be due to the sealing on the climate control case. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to apply butyl tape to cover small holes in the fresh air inlet door.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2021 Bronco
- Whistle noise coming from the front center of the vehicle and/or the climate control housing

Service Procedure
1. Open a front side window and cycle the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control module recirculation mode to the ON and OFF setting while driving above 40 mph (64 km/h).
2. Is a whistle noise heard with the HVAC control module recirculation setting in the ON position?
(1). Yes – proceed to Step 3.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00.
3. Turn off the HVAC control module recirculation mode.
4. Remove the cowl panel grille. Refer to WSM, Section 501-02 Front End Body Parts > Removal and Installation > Cowl Panel Grille.
5. Apply butyl tape over the 2 small holes on the top and bottom section of the fresh air inlet door of the climate control housing. (Figure 1)
NOTE: This may be a blind operation and the fresh air inlet door needs to be in fresh air mode so it remains out of the way.

6. Inspect the area the butyl tape was installed for correct location. Apply more tape if required.
7. Reinstall the cowl panel grille. Refer to WSM, Section 501-02 Front End Body Parts > Removal and Installation > Cowl Panel Grille.
