Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles built on or before 2-Sep-2020 may exhibit an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) and/or stability-traction control lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C0031, C0034 and/or C0051. This may be due to the ABS wheel speed sensor harness rubbing on the front wheels. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect the ABS wheel speed sensor harness and install the pigtail service kit.

This article supersedes TSB 20-2302 to add the production fix date.
Issue: Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicle may exhibit an illuminated ABS and/or stability-traction control lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C0031, C0034, and/or C0051. This may be due to the ABS wheel speed sensor harness rubbing on the front wheels. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect the ABS wheel speed sensor harness and install the pigtail service kit.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2020 Escape/Corsair
- Built on or before 2-Sep-2020
- Illuminated ABS and/or stability-traction control lamp with DTCs C0031, C0034, and/or C0051
- ABS wheel speed sensor harness rubbing on the front wheels
NOTE: Part quantity refers to the number of that service part number required, which may be different than the number of individual pieces. Service part numbers contain 1 piece unless otherwise stated. “As Needed” indicates the part is required but the number may vary or is not a whole number; parts can be billed out as non-whole numbers, including less than 1.

Service Procedure
1. Remove the front wheels. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-04A.
2. Visually inspect the ABS wheel speed sensor harness located in the front wheel opening area. Are the front wheels rubbing against the wire harness? (Figure 1)
(1). Yes – continue to Step 2.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09.

3. Repair the affected wire harness using the service pigtail. Follow the instructions included with the pigtail kit.
NOTE: Reuse the wire harness grommet, if possible.
4. For both the left and right front ABS wheel speed sensor wire harnesses, make sure the wire harness grommet is fully seated in the retaining clip and secure with a zip tie. (Figures 2-3)

5. Install the front wheels. Refer to WSM, Section 204-04A.
