SSM 46996 – 2018 Expedition/Navigator – Loud High Pitched Noise From Entertainment System -Built On Or Before 1-Dec-2017
2018 Expedition/Navigators built on or before 1-Dec-2017 may exhibit a loud high pitched noise from the entertainment system.
The vehicle may not exhibit the noise until the entertainment system has been in use for 5-10 minutes.
This may be due to damage or chafing on circuit CME44 near connector C4194C.
Remove the passenger side upper c-pillar trim piece, and inspect this circuit for damage or chafing.
Repair as necessary.
For claiming, use causal part 14A005 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual.
