2015-2018 MKC – Center Console Rear – Alternating Current (AC) Power Outlet Socket Assembly Door Will Not Open And/Or Close
Some 2015-2018 MKC vehicles equipped with a AC power outlet socket may exhibit a condition with the assembly door becoming disconnected, jammed or locked closed.
If the door is disconnected, re-install the end cap and door.
Refer to updated Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-05 for correct door/spring position installation.
If door is jammed or locked closed, this may be due to the door spring not being properly positioned when the door is installed.
Do not try to force the door open as this may cause damage to the door or interfacing components.
Remove the floor console rear end cap and dislodge the door by pushing it from the back side of the end cap. Reinstall the end cap and door.
Refer to updated WSM, Section 414-05 for the correct door/spring position installation.
