Oil Leak from Dipstick – 1999 Ford Escort & Mercury Tracer

At cold ambient temperatures, the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system may freeze causing the engine to unseat the dipstick and vent crankcase gasses through the dipstick tube.

This may result in oil being discharged on some vehicles.

 

ACTION:

Install PCV Service Kit XU2Z-6A603-AA. Refer to the Instruction Sheet within the kit for Service Procedure.
