2017 Continental – Rear Armrest Binding Or Will Not Fold Down From The Upright Position – 40/20/40 Split Second Row Seating

Some 2017 Continental vehicles equipped with 40/20/40 split second row seating may exhibit the rear armrest not easily folding down from the upright position or may bind when attempting to fold it down.

To assist with folding, position four finger tips to the very top edge of the latch grip.

Next, position thumb on the armrest just to the side of the latch grip.

Using your thumb, push the armrest assembly towards the rear of the vehicle, then while pushing off with your thumb pull the latch release with your fingers at the very top edge of the latch grip.

It is important to push against the armrest assembly with your thumb and then pull with your fingers at the very top edge of the latch grip.

No additional repairs should be attempted at this time.

Engineering is currently investigating a revised design. Monitor OASIS for future updates.
