ISSUE:
Some 2017 Continental vehicles built on or before 17-Sep-2016 may exhibit a lane keeping fault message in the IPC.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Obtain the interior rear view mirror part number located on the back of the mirror.
- Access Online Automotive Service Information System (OASIS) and select the historical vehicle bill of materials (HVBoM) tab and click rear view mirrors, glass, frames and mechanisms link.
- Check the engineering part number for the mirror asy – rear view – inner. Does the engineering part number listed in the HVBoM match the interior rear view mirror assembly?
- Yes – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-07 for normal diagnostics.
- No – replace the interior rear view mirror assembly with the engineering part number listed in HVBoM. Refer to WSM Section 501-09.
