2008 E-Series vehicles may experience noise from the front brakes typically at low speeds, worse over bumps and goes away when the brakes are applied.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Confirm brake pad anti-rattle clips are loose or missing by inspecting the calipers. If the clips are not loose or missing, this procedure does not apply. Follow normal Workshop Manual (WSM).
- If the clips are loose or missing refer to WSM, for pad and clip removal and installation instructions.
- When installing the clips and pads into the caliper following the WSM procedure be sure the anti-rattle clips are properly seated (snapped) into the caliper. (Figure 1)

NOTE: IF THE ANTI-RATTLE CLIPS ARE MISSING, DAMAGED OR WILL NOT RETAIN, THEY CAN NOW BE ORDERED SEPARATELY AND NO LONGER REQUIRE THE COMPLETE PAD ASSEMBLY TO BE REPLACED.
