| WATER LEAK – REVERSE LAMP ASSEMBLY |

2006-2011 Lincoln Town Car vehicles may exhibit water dripping from the drain holes, located on the underside of the luggage compartment lid, when the lid is raised.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), to remove the reverse lamp assembly.
- On the side of the reverse lamp assembly that mounts to the deck lid, cut and remove a 1/8″ (3.2 mm) wide section from the center of the lower foam seal to allow for drainage of water that accumulates between the reverse lamp assembly and the deck lid. (Figure 1)

- Clean off the area where the reverse lamp assembly upper seal contacts the deck lid. Cut two 15″ (38 cm) long pieces of Butyl-Foam Core Sealant Tape and install it on either side of center along the upper surface. (Figures 2-3)

- Apply a small amount of Motorcraft Clear Silicone Rubber around the base of each of the seven assembly mounting studs. (Figure 4)

- Install the reverse lamp assembly.
