The article supersedes TSB 12-1-18 to update the Issue Statement, Service Procedure and Service Labor Time Standards.
ISSUE:
Some 2010-2011 Fusion, Milan and 2011 MKZ Hybrid vehicles built on or before 12/31/2010 may exhibit the red triangle on and stop safely now message, and/or no start condition with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A0A (High Voltage System Interlock Circuit).
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure to correct the concern
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Install the Hybrid Overlay Harness kit to replace intermittently open wire sections of the high voltage (HV) cable interlock circuit.
Do not attempt to identify and repair the suspect area with conventional electrical wire or simply by splicing. The Hybrid Overlay Harness kit contains a special high flexibility wire with added length to better accommodate engine/transaxle movement. No materials or repair procedures should be used other than those included in the kit.
