Have a 2015 F250 6.2. Consuming between 2 and 3 quarts within the ford recommended 5000 mile changes. Have brought this up to the dealer multiple times. they claim its normal. I am having to do all the home work on this.
I am as well! I had to come up with the correct Technical Service Bulletin number before they would even recognize or admit it! They started oil consumption test until it got out of warranty! Now they don’t care and said they couldn’t help! My truck fits the dates but they recommend I fix it and save the receipt. So if my specific Vin number gets recalled they can look at a possible refund!
Have a 450 with a propane engine. It was going thru at least 2 quarts in less than 1000 miles. We just rebuilt the engine and have ran it now for a week. We put 1.5 quarts in it already, in under 1000 miles.
I have this issue with a truck right now, but the Ford Dealer keeps wanting to have unit brought in every 1,000 miles to check oil levels. We have no leaks, just consumption and excess burning at start up each day. Seems dealer is not aware of this diagnosis…
Where is oil going? I see nothing out tailpipe, and why replace 16 sparkplugs? Are the plugs fouled &is there longterm damage?
Excessive oil consumption due to an internally leaking baffle in the right side valve cover.
What is excessive? More than a quart of oil?
One quart for 1500 Miles is considered excessive.
Actually 1 quart over 3000 miles on trucks 2011 and newer. Doesn’t matter Ford will not fix anyway! Dealer asked if I thought about trading? I said yes for a Chevy or Ram with this kind of service!
What is excessive? More than a quart of oil?
One quart for 1500 Miles is considered excessive.
