TSB 15-0095 FUEL ODOR AFTER REFUELING – BUILT ON OR BEFORE 10/17/2014

 

FORD: 2014-2015 Transit Connect

 

This article supersedes TSB 15-0087 to update the Service Procedure and Part List.

 

ISSUE:

Some 2014-2015 Transit Connect vehicles built on or before 10/17/2014 may exhibit a fuel odor inside the cabin after refueling.

 

This may be due to a distorted fuel tank filler pipe gasket and missing fuel tank filler pipe drain tube.

 

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

 

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 310-01.
  1. Replace the fuel tank filler pipe gasket and add a fuel filler pipe drain tube. (Figures 1A and 1B)

  1. Tape the fuel filler drain tube to the body, to hold hose in position, until the fender splash shield is assembled. (Figures 2 and 3)

  1. Reverse the removal procedure to install the fuel tank filler pipe and fuel filler door assembly.
