This article supersedes TSB 13-10-14 to update the Service Procedure.

ISSUE:

Some 2013-2014 Fusion Hybrid, MKZ Hybrid and Energi vehicles built on or before 9/2/2013 may exhibit an illuminated wrench or engine lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P26CA and/or U019F.

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect C1812 at the coolant pump and inspect for evidence of moisture or corrosion on the harness connector and coolant pump terminals. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Section 33-1. Is moisture or corrosion present?
   1. No – this article does not apply. Refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnosis.
   2. Yes – proceed to Step 2.
2. Replace the coolant pump. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-03.
3. Replace the coolant pump connector with a pigtail kit following instructions included in the kit.
   
   
   
   1. Circuit SBF05 GY-RD to the coolant pump is hot at all times. Disconnect the 12 volt battery. Refer to Workshop Manual 414-01.
   
   
   
   2. When installing the connector onto the coolant pump, ensure the harness is routed as straight as possible to avoid damage to the connector seal. (Figure 1)

   3. Connect the 12 volt battery. Refer to Workshop Manual 414-01.
