Summary

Some 2022 Navigator vehicles may experience an inoperative rear interior power liftgate switch. This may be due to a water ingress condition into the rear liftgate. If moisture or corrosion is found in the liftgate switch and/or connector, repair any water leaks prior to switch and/or connector replacement. Check all liftgate seals between liftgate trim panel and liftgate door for proper position and orientation, including seals with the liftgate glass open. Perform water ingress leak path testing on liftgate door. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-00 > Body System > General Information > Diagnosis and Testing > Dust and Water Leaks.

Use diagnostic scanner to clear error code, just use scanner to clear if show negative/occasional; replace the lift struts if show permanent. 🏆【HOW TO REPLACE REAR LIFTGATE STRUTS】: STEP 1. While working, support the lift gate with a broom handle or any comparable stable object to prevent it from falling down on you. STEP 2.Starting on one side of the lift gate, use a screwdriver to remove the clip attached to the pivot point at the top end of the strut. STEP 3. When removing this end of the strut, avoid standing directly under the lift gate; you can support it with your hand for extra stability. STEP 4. Once the top portion of the strut is removed from the vehicle, remove the clip on the bottom end of the strut with the screwdriver.
🏆【HOW TO REPLACE REAR LIFTGATE STRUTS】: STEP 5. Now it’s time for your replacement. First, loosen the clips on both ends of the new strut using the screwdriver. STEP 6. Secure the strut to the bottom pivot point. STEP.7 Secure the clip. STEP 8. Attach the top of the strut; adjust the door if necessary due to tension in the strut. STEP 9. Secure the clip. STEP 10. After completing the first side, proceed to replace the second strut.
🏆【Note】: Tip 1: If the clips are stuck due to dirt and debris buildup, gently wiggle them to release. Tip 2: Clean dirt and debris around the pivot points before replacing the old strut with the new one. Once both struts are replaced, remove the support.
