ISSUE:
Some 2013 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engines may exhibit a MIL illuminated with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P012B (turbocharger/supercharger inlet pressure sensor circuit range/performance) and/or P012D (turbocharger/supercharger inlet pressure sensor circuit high) stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Using the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent Scan Tool, check all continuous memory diagnostic trouble codes (CMDTCS). Is DTC P012B and/or P012D stored in PCM memory?
- No – this article does not apply. Refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnostics.
- Yes – replace turbocharger intake pressure and temperature (TCIPT) sensor and connector C1667. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-014 and Wiring Diagram Section 5-1. (Figure 1)
